Client discovery questionnaire
Every question here was chosen to understand who you really are — your story, your voice, and where you're going. The more honest your answers, the more powerful your strategy.
2
Your business — the foundation
Not the polished version. The real one.
3
Your story — the origin and the why
Note: We're not looking for the polished version here. We want the raw one. The real story is almost always where the brand lives.
Don't summarize. Tell it. Include the moment, the feeling, the turning point.
Vulnerability, when strategic, builds authority.
This is often the most powerful PR angle you have.
4
Your personality — who you really are
Note: We write in your voice, not ours. That means we need to know how you actually talk, what makes you angry, and what you'd never say. Personality is the brand.
Be honest — not aspirational. What are you, not what you wish you were?
Knowing your limits defines your brand as much as your strengths.
These become reference points for your voice and creative direction.
5
Your audience — who you serve
Age, profession, income, life stage, emotional state, what they fear, what they secretly want.
What would they type into Google at 11pm?
6
Your authority — credibility & proof
Note: Before we pitch you to any journalist, podcast host, or event producer, we need every proof point you have. Most clients undersell themselves here. Don't. Give us everything — we'll decide what to use.
The number, story, or transformation that makes people stop scrolling.
Even confidential — we can reference by category (e.g. "Fortune 100 companies").
1 = Very private, 10 = Fully comfortable — love being on camera
7
Your brand — how you look, sound & feel
Not what it does — how it feels. (e.g. Trustworthy, Bold, Magnetic)
This captures voice in a way no brief ever does. Play with it.
8
Your marketing history — what's been tried
9
Your PR & media — the story the world should know
Note: We don't pitch people — we pitch stories. Before writing a single media pitch, we need to find your story. This section is where we find it.
What would make a journalist say "that's interesting"?
We need a reason to pitch you now, not in general.
10
Your 5-year vision — where this is all going
Where do you live? What do you work on? Who knows your name? What do you earn? What is your legacy starting to look like? Write in the present tense.
11
Working together — logistics & expectations
Be specific — numbers, outcomes, feelings, milestones.
